Default Tank has been puking

Well I am not sure if I need to be worried or not so I thought I would ask you guys. It seems like this has been going on the past two weeks, I cant really say for sure when it started. It isnt everyday. This week seems to be a bit worse. He threw up on the dining room floor like two Sundays ago. Then this week he threw up there again and once in my bedroom. Then this morning he threw up outside. He seems to be eating fine, drinking fine. We have had some pretty hot days lately, I try to keep him inside as much as possible. What do you guys think?? Also Tank seems to think the pool is a big water bowl, I know it cant be good for him because of the chemicals. Any ideas as to how to keep him from drinking out of it? I was thinking maybe thats where the stomach upset is coming from, plus he is always eating grass!

I agree with your pool theory. Too much pool water = pukey puppy!

I don't guess there's any way to put a fence around the pool to keep him out?

I heard somewhere once that eating grass has something to do with an upset stomach. I don't know if there is any truth to that, but Danica eats grass on a consistent daily basis. She has never puked from it either. I'm not much help, but I hope he gets better soon.

mine will puke from drinking too much water too fast. if it's hot, he may be doing that. i don't know that the pool water would hurt him. is chlorine similar to fluoride in drinking water? i know fluoride toothpaste for dogs (or is it cats?) is harmful.

not much you can do to keep him away from the pool, other than maybe a kiddie pool of water for him to drink out of?

What I've noticed is that dogs will eat grass when they want to throw up, probably because they know it will make them throw up and provide some relief. There's been tons of theories as to why dogs eat grass but nothing conclusive. The recent theory that I think is interesting is that grass naturally controls parasites.

Who knows....but as for Tank, and his recent bout of vomiting, I would get him to a veterinarian. It could be due to all of the reasons you mentioned, or it could be caused by something completely unrelated, but either way it sounds like his system is having a hard time, and a vet will be able to take care of that quickly.

What does the vomit look like? Bile? Digest food? Undigested food?

Its food with some grass in it. Mostly digested food, sometimes there are pieces in there but he shovels his food in so its not surprising.

There is some kind of natural chemical in grass (can't remember the name right now) that helps their stomachs. It does cause them throw up but that is to help thier stomachs. I now on hot hot days I have dogs puking everywhere. it could just be the weather. I sure hope he gets to feeling better.

thor eats grass to puke and other times he just likes to chow down on it lol. one time I saw a MASSIVE amount of grass in his puke. it was disgusting. no wonder he couldn't hold it down.

grass is the #1 culprit of his 'hangers' too

Hope Tank is feeling better soon. The heat can't be helping. Maybe a quick trip to the vet is called for just to be sure.
