I know it's old news but Arbie still hasn't had seizures which is great news on one hand and he's been building up to them on and off sinse we got Ella. then he's gone ok but now he seems to be building up again. I'm scared because he's gone so long of him clustering again and going into status so please send vibes/prayers for my boy!

he had his last seizures January 13th - that is a long time for Arbie 7 - 10 days is the norm. The last time he went for three months was when he was in liver failure and that's probably at the back of my mind also - but he's eating and active and no jaundice so perjhaps he just feels better for having Ella around??? who knows. But I do know he's building up - he won't leave my side!

Have you had his liver checked recently? That would give you some piece of mind. Maybe Ella IS helping him. He has someone to calm him down and lower his anxiety. I am sure that helps him knowing he has a friend there for him. So has she seen one of his seizures then? I cannot remember exactly when you got her. I know Dex gets really worried about Frye, even if he jerks in his sleep, Dex jumps up to check on him to make sure he is ok.

Yes he's had his liver checked - he gets everything checked on a regular basis because of his history but I still can't help worrying. Ellaa ws in her crate the first time Arbie had a seizure in a different room - but I'm hoping thatbecause they both let me know when one or other needs toilet Ella will be able to alert me to a seizure - she has definately been more careful with him the last couple of days - making sure she doesn't jump on him etc..

Oh dear, definitely sending you vibes for your Boy!! I cannot even imagine how on edge you're feeling right now! Do you almost want him to have one so you can breathe a little easier? When the time is right of course.... poor guy!

good girl ella for watching out for arbie. I pray if he has to have one that it's mild. thor has been tremoring more lately and even when i get his attention they continue. they scare me to death and i keep thinking what if they escalate into seizures? i grab the peanut butter when he's like that and it brings him out of it. I'm thinking the increased activity with the scooter is depleting his blood sugar too low. it's always at night and usually after a busy day. you use honey right? can you use that preventatively? I agree, ella is the best medicine for arbie. look how long he's gone w/o a seizure! amazing

ive only had one pet in my life that had seizures... it was a cat that had been attacked by a neighbor dog. the cat would have one if you talked to it. we had her in the barn in a box where it was dark. that said, i was little and really didnt quite understand what was going on. i dont know how on earth i would be able to handle one of my best friends going through this now. my prayers for you and arbie.

I remember how scared I was the other week when Shane had his seizure, I can't imagine going through it regularly. Prayers going up for you and Arbie right now ![]() I hope Ella reacts better to Arbie's seizure than McKenzie did to Shane's, she tried to bite him. I think she was really trying to get his attention..but ...that added to my scaredness. |

Good vibes on their way! You can't help but think that Ella is playing a part in Arbie being seizure free for so long. I had a Cocker that was epileptic when I was younger. Thinking back on it, he never had another seizure once we added a second dog to the family, but it sounds like his seizures and Arbies are very different. GOOD VIBES! GOOD VIBES! GOOD VIBES! |
